A Lovely Transitional/Contemporary Sconce

This piece is quite the looker. This is a piece by George Kovac http://www.georgekovac.com/. This company offers mid to high level priced sconces, chandeliers, wall mount lighting and pendants. I love this particular socnce which also comes in a gold finish. These would be great in a bedroom on each side of a bed with a tufted headboard in chocolate velvet. Doesn't that sound delicious? Add pops of color by using avocado green pilllows (long bolster across the bed) maybe in a velvet. Accessorize the rest of your bedroom with small pops of the same accent color to bring it all together. You will be amazed at the finished product.

Very Cool Chair new on the market to this manufacturer and covered in a pony skin (sorry animal rights persons), but this is just hotalicious!  It is also priced to sell! I would like to pick up one for my own personal boudoir actually. The great thing about cow hides and skins is that they are easy to clean with just a damp soapy sponge. If you think about it, the animals are outside in the elements all of the time. Does their hair ever look dirty? Absolutely not! This is a must have for any design fanatic. One piece in a hide be it a rug or an upholstered piece is definitely something I like to use in my design plans. This one borders on the mod/contemporary side, but you could also use this in a ski lodge. This is a versitile piece for sure.

This is a wonderful piece from Guildmaster! This dining table is perfect for a contemporary or traditional setting. The best part is the price point is definitely doable and this piece is solid.  You can pair it with six Verner Panton chairs (shown below) to create quite an ecclectic MOD look. to spice it up a bit, add sheepskin throws (picture shown belowis sampe of sheepskin only not suggestion for chairs) to the end chairs and voila! Instant rustic MODern. Use velcro to attach the sheepskin to the chair. You can take the sheepskin off if you get tired of it.  And, the Panton chairs are perfect for families with kids. They are easy to clean (just wipe with a damp soapy sponge), a design icon and fun for the whole family. They are great for making tents too! Who says rustic and modern don't mix...............   

Correction To Blue Lotus Yoga Post

Actually, the instructor I had last night was Anisha. I am sure that all of the instructors are wonderful, but I personally had the pleasure of being a student of Anisha at my session last night at Blue Lotus Yoga. Thanks again Anisha. It was an incredible experience! I will be back for more.

Blue Lotus Yoga

I recently started taking yoga and had my first real "yoga" experience at Blue Lotus Yoga in Raleigh. I have only heard stories about yogies reaching a euphoric state and experienced it first hand last night. The amazing yoga instructor Conni completely transformed me into a place that I didn't want to leave. I felt my body and mind go into a place that I felt centered and in complete control of myself and my surroundings. I can't quite describe it really, but I can say there are personal things in my life that I have recently found complicated and unable to fully understand their reasoning, but last night, it became a little clearer and I felt a sense of  peace about it. I recommend Blue Louts to anyone who has always wanted to try yoga or just need to find a place where they can let go of all of their stresses. This is the place for you! I am totally hooked. Shagalicous Floor Coverings

This window display by Chandra Rugs was fabulous! It actually made me want chocolate. However, I rushed over to their showroom at market then I indulged in a chocolate cupcake. Chandra has a wonderful selection of rugs to fit most any environment. I was thrilled that they had a huge selection of mod/contemporary rugs. That's right up my alley.
